Cardiovascular Diseases
Severe Heart Conditions: Avoid use if you have a history of severe heart problems like unstable angina, heart attack, or stroke within the past 6 months. Sexual activity can put an added strain on the heart, and Vardenafil can lower blood pressure, which may be dangerous.
Severe Arrhythmias: Irregular heartbeats that are not well-managed may worsen with Vardenafil.
Aortic Stenosis or Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy: These conditions can make it risky to use Vardenafil, as it lowers blood pressure and further exacerbates the symptoms of these cardiac issues.
Uncontrolled Hypertension or Hypotension
High Blood Pressure: Uncontrolled hypertension can interact dangerously with Vardenafil if the patient uses other blood pressure-lowering medications with Snovitra Professional 20mg.
Low Blood Pressure: Individuals with hypotension (low blood pressure) should avoid the medication. It may further lower blood pressure. It can cause fainting, dizziness, or cardiovascular collapse.
Liver or Kidney Disease
Severe Liver Disease: Advanced liver disease can affect how the body metabolizes Vardenafil, increasing the risk of adverse effects.
Kidney Disease (Renal Failure): Severe kidney issues may reduce the ability to eliminate the drug, which can increase side effects and toxicity.
Eye Diseases
Retinitis Pigmentosa: A rare genetic disorder affecting the retina. The medication may affect blood flow to the optic nerve. Hence, avoid using Snovitra Professional 20mg.
Non-arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy (NAION): Vardenafil may increase the risk of vision loss in people with a history of NAION that affects blood flow to the optic nerve.
Blood Disorders
Bleeding Disorders: Those with bleeding disorders such as hemophilia should avoid Vardenafil, as it can increase the risk of bleeding.
Active Peptic Ulcers: Vardenafil may increase stomach acid, exacerbating ulcers and increasing the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.
Deformity or Conditions Predisposing to Priapism
Penile Deformities: Conditions like Peyronie's disease or anatomical deformation of the penis can increase the risk of painful or prolonged erections.
Conditions Predisposing to Priapism: Blood cell disorders like sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia increase the risk of priapism (prolonged erections), which can lead to permanent damage if not treated.
Severe Respiratory Disorders
Pulmonary Hypertension: Exercise caution, especially if you are taking medications for pulmonary hypertension, as drug interactions can cause issues with blood pressure and heart function.
Severe Allergy to Vardenafil or Other PDE5 Inhibitors
Anyone with a known hypersensitivity or allergic reaction to Vardenafil or similar PDE5 inhibitors should avoid this medication.
Nitrates
Nitroglycerin (often used for chest pain or angina). Isosorbide Mononitrate and Dinitrate: These medications, when combined with Vardenafil, can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure (hypotension). This effect can be life-threatening.
Recreational Nitrates: Drugs such as amyl nitrite and butyl nitrite, or "poppers." These medications may trigger a similar risk of severe hypotension.
Alpha-Blockers
Doxazosin, Tamsulosin, and Terazosin: Doctors prescribe these medications to treat high blood pressure or prostate issues. When used with Vardenafil, they can cause a significant drop in blood pressure, especially when starting or adjusting the dose. If needed, doctors may allow the use of alpha-blockers and Vardenafil with careful timing and under their supervision.
Other PDE5 Inhibitors
Sildenafil, Tadalafil, and Avanafil: Taking multiple PDE5 inhibitors together increases the risk of adverse effects, such as severe hypotension and prolonged erections (priapism). Treat your ED using one PDE5 inhibitor at a time.
Antifungal Medications
Ketoconazole and Itraconazole: These antifungals can increase Vardenafil levels in the blood by affecting liver enzymes and raising the risk of side effects. This interaction is problematic for older adults.
Certain Antibiotics
Erythromycin and Clarithromycin: These antibiotics can increase the concentration of Vardenafil in the bloodstream, leading to higher risks of side effects.
HIV Protease Inhibitors
Ritonavir, Indinavir, and Saquinavir: These medications, used to treat HIV, can significantly increase Vardenafil levels because of their effect on liver enzymes. They can increase side effects. Using Vardenafil with these drugs may require a lower dose.
Hepatitis C Protease Inhibitors
Boceprevir and Telaprevir: These drugs, used to treat hepatitis C, can interact with Vardenafil, leading to increased levels and side effects of the ED medication.
Medications Affecting the QT Interval
Antiarrhythmic (Amiodarone, Sotalol): Vardenafil may prolong the QT interval, so combining it with drugs that have a similar effect can increase the risk of severe heart rhythm problems. Doctors do not recommend using Vardenafil with medications that affect QT prolongation.
Grapefruit and Grapefruit Juice
Grapefruit products interfere with liver enzymes that metabolize Vardenafil, leading to increased levels of the drug in the blood and a higher likelihood of adverse effects.
Blood Pressure Medications
Although not an absolute contraindication, patients must use blood pressure-lowering medicines (Amlodipine, Lisinopril)) cautiously with Snovitra Professional 20mg. The combined effect may enhance the blood-pressure-lowering effects and drop the blood pressure level, causing dizziness or fainting.
